LOCATION Helford village lies on the banks of the Helford, one of Cornwall's most unspoilt rivers. This "picture post card village" offers a shop with post office and the famous Shipwrights Arms public house. The south west coast path can be picked up from here and "Frenchman's Creek" from Daphne Du Maurier's novel of the same name is just a short walk from the top of the village. There is a popular sailing club within the village, and deep water moorings can be obtained (subject to availability).
A passenger ferry links the north and south banks of the river, crossing over the Helford passage, from here the magnificent gardens of Trebah and Glendurgan can be explored as well as the pretty beaches of Durgan & Grebe.
Primary schooling is available in nearby Manaccan and the village of St Keverne offers a wider range of amenities such as convenience store, restaurant and butchers.
The market town of Helston is some 10 miles distant.
